GI of the Rockies is seeking a skilled Pathologist with focused expertise in gastrointestinal pathology to provide high-quality diagnostic services within a specialized GI practice. This role is dedicated to the evaluation and interpretation of GI specimens, supporting timely clinical decision-making and optimal patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology with fellowship training or significant hands-on experience in GI pathology.
Key Responsibilities
Interpret a high volume of gastrointestinal biopsy and resection specimens, including esophageal, gastric, small bowel, and colorectal tissues
Diagnose a wide spectrum of GI conditions, including inflammatory disorders, dysplasia, and malignancies, with accuracy and efficiency
Deliver clear, concise, and clinically actionable pathology reports within established turnaround times
Provide real-time consultative support to gastroenterologists regarding complex or ambiguous findings
Participate in multidisciplinary collaboration, including tumor boards or case discussions as applicable
Contribute to quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure diagnostic consistency and excellence
Maintain strict compliance with CLIA, CAP, and all applicable regulatory standards
Accurately document findings and case details within the laboratory information system (LIS)
Partner closely with histology, laboratory, and clinical teams to ensure seamless workflow and specimen integrity
Minimum Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited Pathology residency program
Board certification or eligibility in Anatomic Pathology
Fellowship training in Gastrointestinal Pathology or substantial equivalent experience
Active, unrestricted medical license in Colorado (or eligibility to obtain)

Experience in a high-volume GI pathology or gastroenterology-focused practice
Advanced diagnostic expertise across inflammatory bowel disease, Barrett’s esophagus, GI neoplasia, and polyp classification
Strong communication skills with the ability to clearly convey complex diagnostic information to clinical partners
Proven ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with physicians and care teams
Conditions of Employment
Successful completion of credentialing, privileging, and background verification
Ongoing maintenance of licensure, board status, and continuing medical education (CME) requirements
