The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Indiana University Health (IU Health) and the Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) seeks a dynamic academic leader to direct a growing Gynecologic Oncology Division that serves as Indiana’s primary referral center for complex gynecologic cancer care. The Division Director of Gynecologic Oncology functions as the academic, clinical, and administrative leader of the division, advancing excellence in patient care, research, education, faculty development, and strategic growth across the IU Health system. This individual will collaborate closely with departmental and health system leadership to ensure alignment with institutional priorities and continued expansion of a nationally recognized program.
Position Highlights
Lead an expanding division of five gynecologic oncologists and three advanced practice providers
Provide comprehensive gynecologic oncology care, including open, robotic, and laparoscopic surgery, chemotherapy management, and consultation
Primary practice sites include IU Health University Hospital and the IU Melvin & Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center, Indiana’s only NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center
Additional clinical sites include IU Health North Hospital (Carmel) and Eskenazi Health (Indianapolis), with planned expansion to IU Health Arnett (Lafayette)
Collaborate in multidisciplinary cancer care with radiation oncology, pathology, genomics, palliative care, social work, and patient-navigation services
Participate in a rotating inpatient, outpatient, and OR service model
Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows, with opportunities to support the department’s new Gynecologic Oncology fellowship
Engage in research, clinical trials, quality improvement, and academic leadership (IUSM ranked No. 15 among public universities for NIH funding in 2025)

Qualifications
Board Certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology (ABOG)
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Gynecologic Oncology fellowship
Experience & Leadership Competencies
Minimum 3–5 years of progressive academic leadership experience; prior Division or Medical Director experience preferred
Demonstrated success in faculty mentorship, program development, operational and financial management, and multidisciplinary collaboration
Strategic thinker with strong communication skills, emotional intelli???
