Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification. PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i.e., not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis. PRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privileged; rather, they are to have a "scope of practice" that allows them to perform certain restricted duties under supervision. Additionally, surgery residents in gap years may also be appointed as PRPs. Proficiency in spoken and written English. Position Summary: The physician will serve as clinical diagnostic radiologist and Chief of Radiology Service. Incumbent will provide interpretive and patient care services within the scope of general radiology and will have responsibilities in other areas such as education, administration and committee service. The physician is responsible for all aspects of Radiology Services throughout the VA Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center & Clinics (SORCC). He/she must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide all general diagnostic imaging services. He/she must possess sufficient computer skills necessary to work with advanced electronic medical records, PACS and Powerscribe voice recognition systems. General computer skills to a high extent of proficiency is suggested, and strongly preferred. He/she will be responsible for establishing, documenting and maintaining standard procedures related to Imaging, for the facility (through Medical Center Memoranda [MCMs]) and for the Radiology Service (through Standard Operating Procedures [SOPs].
