This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Yes Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases The incumbent will be responsible for the assessment and care of new and returning patients with any number of allergic diseases (food or drug allergy, angioedema, aspirin desensitization, allergic rhinitis, urticaria). The incumbent is responsible for ordering diagnostics, consultations, medications and other therapies as medically indicated. The incumbent will be responsible for completing all required VA electronic documentation and appropriate correspondence with referring providers and VA multidisciplinary teams in a timely manner. The incumbent will be primarily based at Palo Alto Functions/Duties: Provides assessment and treatment for drug, vaccine, food, venom, and environmental allergy Provides assessment and treatment for urticaria, anaphylaxis, and angioedema Provides antibiotic and aspirin desensitization Supervises assessment of true penicillin allergy in the VA population. Supervises penicillin drug testing and drug challenges Assists the Dermatology Department in the evaluation and management of allergic skin disease Builds a robust asthma program along with pulmonary medicine physicians, particularly focused on Allergic and eosinophilic asthma as well as nasal polyposis Provides inpatient consultation for urgent and emergent allergy patients Provides triage and screening of Allergy consultation requests Collaborates with community allergists for allergy immunotherapy Provides clinical care for the above diseases at minimum one half day per week Work Schedule: Monday - Wednesday (Or similar), 8:00am - 4:30pm. Schedule will adjust weekly to accommodate 40 hours bi-weekly.
