VHA is an equal opportunity employer seeking a for Cardiothoracic Surgeon Physician for VA New Jersey Healthcare System. Physicians will be paid commensurate with experience using VA's Market-based physician pay system. Duties included but not limited to: Performing medical evaluation, diagnosing and treating conditions, injuries and diseases that affect the organs in the thorax and chest. Performing a wide range of corrective and critical care operations, such as chest wall tumor resections, tracheotomies, lung transplants and pulmonary embolectomies. Directing overall management of patients in collaboration with other members of the health care team. Supervision and education of Residents and medical students from affiliate schools is required. Participation in an effective clinical program with attention to patient outcome indicators. Practice within the scope of assigned privileges. Meet medical staff criteria for initial appointment and reappointment, including ongoing CME. Work Schedule: 12 hour week - One day in O.R. and a half day in the clinic.
