An opportunity exists for a part-time, non-invasive Cardiologist at the Joliet Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) in Joliet, IL. This clinic serves patients primarily in Will and Kendall counties and is a CBOC for the Edward Hines, JR., VA Hospital. The physician's primary responsibility will be to provide cardiology care to patients at the CBOCs in an outpatient setting. There will be in person (face-to-face) and virtual (VVC video/phone) patient visits. The physician will have cardiology clinics at one or more CBOCs. Travel to the site(s) in the physician's own automobile will be required. There could be situations, in case of unexpected staffing needs, when the physician could be asked to provide care at the main campus of Hines VA Hospital. The physician could also be asked to interpret noninvasive studies (ECG, treadmill stress test, Holter and event monitor, and echocardiogram studies) depending on the needs of the Cardiology Section. The physician will work collaboratively with other hospital staff on clinical care and on quality and performance improvement projects. He or she will participate in clinical and educational activities to stay grounded and relevant in the role. The physician will be responsible for all functions which fall under the scope of care of a specialty care provider. These include predominantly clinical and administrative management, either directly or through delegated authority, of the following: Initial patient evaluation in inpatient and outpatient setting Management of acute and chronic medical conditions in inpatient and outpatient setting: Follow up care post treatment Consultation with other services as needed Optimizing patient safety and quality Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Part time (20 hours per week/ 40 hours a pay period) Financial Discloser Report: Not required
