Academic Gastroenterologist - Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Syracuse, New York has an opening for a full-time Academic Gastroenterologist. Candidates must be BC in Internal Medicine, BC/BE in Gastroenterology and have experience in the full range of gastroenterology clinical services to treat conditions affecting the GI system Academic Gastroenterologist - Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Syracuse, New York has an opening for a full-time Academic Gastroenterologist. Candidates must be BC in Internal Medicine, BC/BE in Gastroenterology and have experience in the full range of gastroenterology clinical services to treat conditions affecting the GI system such as acid reflux, ulcers, IBS, IBD, polyps, jaundice, hemorrhoids, pancreatitis and colon cancer. The successful candidate will be proficient in a wide range of surgical procedures that include upper and lower GI tract, endoscopic ultrasound, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography preferred, but not required. Will consider candidates who will be completing Gastroenterology fellowship training or becoming board eligible in June 2020. The Syracuse VA is affiliated with the medical school at the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University (UMU). Teaching of medical students, residents and fellows is an integral part of the position. Research and teaching opportunities are available, and applicants are encouraged to explore and participate in a relevant areas of interest. Applicants must possess a full and unrestricted license in any State and must qualify for an academic appointment at the SUNY UMU.
