This position is for a part time Neuro-Ophthalmologist (Staff Physician) in the Surgical HealthCare Group at the VA Long Beach HealthCare System in Long Beach, California. **Eligible applicants will be forwarded to the department periodically or upon department's request.** The major duties of this position includes but are not limited to: Providing comprehensive clinical neuro-ophthalmology care and surgical adult strabismus care to our Veteran patients. Supervising ophthalmology residents in the neuro-ophthalmology clinic, short procedure room, laser room and the operating room. Providing diagnostic and therapeutic services in inpatient and outpatient settings, ordering diagnostic studies and procedures, and perform surgical and non-surgical neuro-ophthalmology ophthalmology procedures. Assessing and examining patients to diagnosis and develop treatment plans. Collaborating with other physician specialists and medical staff in overall treatment of patient medical conditions. Managing medical disorders affecting vision, such as inflammatory, vascular, neurological and genetic disorders, thyroid eye disease, diabetes and strokes. Contributes to departmental educational programs including training of residents, fellows and medical students Communicating with patients and family members educating then to understand their medical condition.
