This position is located in the Surgery section at the Oklahoma City VA Health Care System. The Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System is an active teaching hospital affiliated with The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City. It is for the recruitment of a Full-Time, Board certified/Board eligible, General Surgeon. Duties include, but are not limited to: Provides full spectrum of operative and non-operative management care to patients. Participates in and/or manages all aspects to include surgical, inpatient care, and outpatient clinical visits; administrative and academic components. Provides direct patient care, oversees residents by providing clinical instruction in the outpatient clinic and inpatient settings. Attends, participates, and supervises residents and/or medical students in outpatient clinics and the performance of any procedure whether in the operating room or at the bedside appropriate to their level of graduate responsibility. Takes an active role in the evaluation of the patient, decision for treatment/care, and documentation in the patient electronic records. Work Schedule: 8AM-430PM. Employee will be expected to take call and will be added to a rotation call schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
