This position is eligible for Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) The Chief of Anesthesiology is a specialty professional in the anesthetic care of our patients. This includes the administration and monitoring of anesthesia both in general and regional to classes of adult and geriatric patient in the Operating Room. The Chief of Anesthesia will supervise the Anesthesia techs with the assistance of the CRNA's. The anesthesiologist serves a consultant to the Medical and Surgical Services, not only in pre-surgical evaluation of patients, but in areas of expert airway adjunct, difficult I.V. access and pain control. The Anesthesiologist is available on a 24 hour basis to provide I.V. sedation consultation and/or administration for sedation through the medical center and insure the quality of care of that service. The Anesthesiologist will demonstrate the ability to appropriately and courteously relate to internal and external customers, maintain the confidentiality of patient/employee information, and to function and work in a safe manner, as well as demonstrating an on-going commitment to and understanding of the Medical Center's Performance Improvement program. The Anesthesiologist will demonstrate the knowledge of changes associated with ageing and principles of human growth and development possess the ability to assess and interpret patient data, and the ability to identify age-specific needs such as incorporating age specific factors, and needs into patient care activities.
