The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System is searching for anAmbulatory Care Physician for the Lee County Healthcare Center located in Cape Coral, Florida.
Ambulatory Care Center is a facility located in Cape Coral, FL that caters to Veterans seeking immediate care, Veterans who are unassigned, or travelling. The Ambulatory Care Physician position is located at the Lee County Health Care Center Center and reports to the Section Chief of Primary Care at the Lee County Health Care Center.
The ACC Providers are responsible to the Chief of Primary Care for the provision of Veteran Health Care for those Veterans seeking immediate care to address acute needs. The ACC is a BLS facility providing care to populations undifferentiated by gender, disease and organ system. The Physicians at the ACC are experienced and proficient in the provision of acute care.
The physician is to assist with the team approach to acute care within ACC, working with other Providers and other Clinical and Professional staff. The physician is responsible for the management of patients to include examination, medical care management, coordination of consultation, referral of patients as appropriate. She/he coordinates health care needs according to guidelines established by the Department of Veterans Affairs and sound medical practice.
Measurement of clinical performance is based upon quality reviews, participation in medical center committees, and other methods. An active knowledge of the patient care processes of the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Healthcare System and its clinics is maintained. An essential element is active knowledge of the medical records system (CPRS). This shall include using the computerized medical record system for progress notes, orders, and medical record review and completion of such records in a complete and timely manner. The physician shall have knowledge of and abide by Healthcare System Bylaws, VHA Rules and Regulations and have a familiarization with existing VA specific clinical guidelines.
Board certified, Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine
Acute care experience and certification preferred.
The physician will have significant experience clinical experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine or equivalent clinical background
The successful candidate possesses excellent clinical skills, is a strong communicator and brings demonstrated people skills, care coordination and organizational management. The physician is expected to be committed to an interdisciplinary approach to patient care delivery. Must have the ability to prioritize and to make appropriate decisions.
Salary Range: $185,000 up to $243,000 per year
Work Hours: 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday
A Recruitment/Relocation Incentive with a service agreement may be authorized for a Highly Qualified Candidate
The selected candidate may be eligible to apply for student loan repayment through the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) up to $200,000 over a 5 year period.
