Busy six doctor Atlanta practice is looking for a third glaucoma specialist
Atlanta Ophthalmology Associates (AOA) is an outstanding practice in the heart of the North Atlanta medical community. AOA is a highly-respected, comprehensive, multi-specialty group with two corneal/refractive specialists, two glaucoma specialists, a medical ophthalmologist and an optometrist.
The group does a large volume of cataract surgery in addition to LASIK, cornea, and glaucoma procedures. It is a Cataract Center of Excellence utilizing the femto-second laser in more than 50% of cataract surgeries. A large volume of toric and multifocal IOLs are chosen by its patients.
AOA is seeking a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist who is enthusiastic about trabs and tubes as well as MIGS. The associate will be busy right away. After a period of employment, the associate would be offered the opportunity for partnership. Drs. Reay Brown and David Palay were professors at Emory before founding the practice 21 years ago. Although the doctors all have a strong subspecialty focus, AOA is a full-service practice with contact lens dispensing and a busy optical with three outstanding opticians.
Because of Dr. Brown, the practice has a long history of involvement in glaucoma surgery research, especially MIGS. A new associate would have the opportunity to participate in these projects if interested.
Atlanta is hugely underserved in glaucoma and it is difficult for referring doctors to get their patients seen in a timely manner. An energetic person taking this position will immediately become a very important person in the ophthalmic community.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone wanting to combine challenging glaucoma with cataract surgery as a member of the best ophthalmology practice in Atlanta.
Please contact Reay Brown, MD or Brenda Lorenzo, AOA’s practice manager, by email or phone if you are interested.
