Pediatrician (full time): Mott Children’s Health Center (MCHC) in Flint, Michigan is looking for a full-time, board eligible/board certified Pediatrician to join our team. MCHC takes great pride in being a center of excellence in pediatric care – providing medical, dental, behavioral, audiology and wellness services to eligible children and adolescents in Genesee County.
Pediatric Job Functions: Provides direct clinical care, related health services and education to patients/families while supporting the patient-centered medical home (PCMH). The pediatrician works as a member of the care team. There is an ongoing interaction of team members to discuss roles, responsibilities, communication and patient care coordination among team members, working together to provide and enhance the care provided by MCHC.
Clinical Care Delivery
Provides direct patient care, consultation and clinical leadership in the Child & Adolescent Health/Psychiatry (CAH/P) department.
Documents progress notes and other clinical data in client’s electronic record utilizing current e-documentation standards, based on PCMH and meaningful use standards.
Collaborates and consults as necessary with other community physicians.
May provide inpatient services at Hurley Medical Center or other Flint area hospitals as applicable.
Participates in interdisciplinary teaching of CAH/P clinic staff.
Participates in continuous quality improvement processes.
On-going compliance with updated PCMH standard procedures and MCHC policies.
Participates in the expansion of university partnerships, with a primary focus on MCHC’s relationship with Michigan State School of Human Medicine including the expansion of telemedicine and other related teaching opportunities.
Assists in the development and evaluation of CAH/P programs.
Participates in the development of departmental training plans, educational programs, prevention, intervention and quality improvement initiatives.
Coordinates specialized training/in-service programs for CAH/P.
Assists the Director, Child & Adolescent Health Services in establishing short and long-range goals/objectives to assure departmental objectives are accomplished.
Participates in the review, analysis, interpretation and revision of policies and procedures.
Participates in the clinical supervision of nurse practitioners, registered nurses and other CAH/P staff involved in primary care.
Performs peer review evaluations/assessments as assigned.
Maintains required CME credits and/or board certification status at all times.
Must hold a medical degree from a recognized/accredited medical school and be board certified or board eligible with the American Board of Pediatrics.
Must have current Michigan license to practice medicine, Michigan Controlled Substance License and DEA License (transferable to MCHC).
Must provide evidence of Professional Liability Insurance including a reporting extension endorsement (Tail Insurance Coverage) for potential claims liability from treatment rendered or that should have been rendered during/for any practice services other than services directly for MCHC. (MCHC provides Professional Liability Insurance including Tail Coverage for MCHC services during applicable MCHC employment period.)
Personal qualities of unquestioned integrity, professional dedication and commitment to the basic tenets of the Center’s service mission are required. Other attributes of demonstrated leadership, communication and team building skills are also required.
Basic computer skills required in Microsoft Word (min. 35 wpm), Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, Remote Desktop, Adobe Acrobat
Intermediate computer skills required in EHR/EMR/EPM
