Retina Specialist

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a Retina Specialist. Duties will include supervising and mentoring residents, fellows, and medical students in the clinic and operating room as well as direct patient care. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in research projects, give didactic lectures, and serve on departmental/college/university committees. Board certification/eligibility in Ophthalmology, a two year Retina Fellowship or equivalent experience, and ability to obtain a Florida medical license are prerequisites. Academic rank beyond that of Assistant Professor will commensurate with education and experience.
Responsibilities: Teaching Duties: Supervision, lecturing and mentoring of residents, fellows and medical students in both the clinical and operating room setting. Participate in call coverage for residents. Clinical Duties: See patients at USF Eye Institute, TGH and Moffitt. Perform retinal surgery. Provide call coverage as appropriate with existing faculty. Other Duties: Professional development, as well as public services including, but not limited to, serving on designated departmental, collegial and university committees.

Doctoral degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor. Board certification/eligibility in Ophthalmology with a two year Retina fellowship or equivalent experience. |
