The Royster Group, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Psychiatrist for the Naval Hospital Jacksonville's location. Naval Branch Health Clinic (BHC) Jacksonville is one of Naval Hospital Jacksonville’s six health care facilities. Their Medical Home Port care teams are focused on meeting our nation’s active duty and their health care family needs—preventive, routine and urgent. BHC’s care teams whole-person approach to the total health and wellness is able and better to position the clinic’s care better than other outside emergency care systems.
The position is a Psychological Health initiative under the Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (PH/TBI) program. The program seeks to address gaps in the care available for the prevalent injuries among combatants from the global war on terrorism. Through adoption of risk-based staffing models and a uniform, best practice standard of care across the Department of Defense (DoD) Military Health System, the program seeks to ensure easy, rapid access to PH and TBI care for all beneficiaries and to ensure that the transition across networks of care recognizes the unique care coordination and case management requirements for PH and TBI patients.
Duties/Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Be capable of adequately diagnose and performs psychiatric evaluations.
Participate in the implementation of the Family Advocacy Program as directed. Participation shall include, but not be limited to, appropriate medical examination, documentation, and reporting.
Anticipate potential problems/emergencies and make appropriate interventions.
Exercise awareness and sensitivity to patient/significant others’ rights, as identified within the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
Participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Provide training and/or direction as applicable to supporting government employees e.g., hospital corpsmen, students, etc.).
Perform timely, accurate, and concise documentation of patient care.
Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with clinic directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required. All records and reports must be legible. Abbreviations must be only those listed in local instructions.
Operate and manipulate automated systems such as CHCS, AHLTA, ADS, Essentris, MHS Genesis and Clinical Information System (CIS), participate in clinical staff Performance Improvement (PI) and Risk Management (RM) functions, as prescribed by the Commander. Maintain DOD email account as directed.
Degree/Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.).
Board Certification: Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
Experience: Must have no less than two (2) years of experience within the last three (3) years as a full-time psychiatrist. Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine as required.
Certifications: Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Certification cards must display the American Heart Association, the American Red Cross or Military Training Network emblem. Web-based classes do not meet required standards.
