South Central Pennsylvania Ophthalmology group is looking for a BC/BE ophthalmic surgeon with Glaucoma or Cornea fellowship training or previous practice experience to join our busy practice. We are a progressive well-established 2 ophthalmologist, 1 optometrist practice that has been providing eye care to the local community for 50 years.
Our practice emphasis is cataract surgery, along with medical and surgical eye care. The office currently has eleven exam lanes, all the necessary up to date technology, Nextech's MD Intellesys EHR, a well trained and efficient 18 member ancillary staff, and an in-office optical shop. Our office is in close proximity to four hospitals and a physician-owned ASC. A teaching university hospital with an ophthalmology residency program is 15 miles away. The paid hospital emergency call is only 2-3 weeks per year!
Candidates must have an outstanding bedside manner, diagnostic acumen, and interpersonal skills. Preference will be given to ophthalmologists with significant anterior segment surgical experience including LACS & MIGS. Candidate will immediately start with five cataracts per week and the surgical volume is expected to increase significantly with time. Additional glaucoma or corneal cases will be based on candidate’s training and experience.
We anticipate offering a partnership track to commence at the two year anniversary of employment. Benefits will also include health and malpractice insurance, generous retirement plan, CME allowance, a relocation expense stipend, and four weeks of paid vacation for the first year of employment. Expected initial base salary of $275,000 or more depending on experience with an automatic pay raise for the second year. A bonus incentive for both first and second years will be provided. We are looking for a candidate that has a long term commitment to reside in south central Pennsylvania.
