New York Medical College (NYMC) School of Medicine (SOM) seeks a distinguished leader in the field of rehabilitation medicine to be the Chair of Rehabilitation Medicine.
The SOM’s Department of Rehabilitation Medicine has 12 full-time faculty members, primarily based at Metropolitan Hospital Center in New York City. The department actively carries out NYMC medical student teaching and has a fully ACGME-accredited residency program. The department chair will mentor the research activities of students, residents and early-phase faculty members, leading to publication of scholarly works and to extramurally funded grants & contracts.
The endowed chair will be an M.D or an M.D/Ph.D whose role as clinician, teacher, researcher and administrator as the Chairman of the Department will proactively build programmatic bridges from Rehabilitation Medicine department to other NYMC academic units, affiliated healthcare systems & hospitals, research centers & institutes and other extramural partners & research networks as well as encourage research collaborations among the SOM departments.
