Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center's health system is expanding its Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation footprint in the region. We are seeking a Physiatrist to join our faculty in our Mission to Care, Mission to Cure.
The Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Physiatrist will support the growth and development of a robust Pediatric Rehabilitation Program, the comprehensive integrated inpatient rehabilitation programs and outpatient rehabilitation clinic. The focus will be the provision of clinical services with opportunities to participate in the education and research missions of the PM&R department and Medical Center. This is a full time faculty opportunity which will report to the Chair of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
Board Certified in Pediatric Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
North Carolina licensure or eligible
Successful record of clinical and service excellence
Interest and/or experience in teaching and research, a plus
WFBMC offers inpatient rehabilitation programs in a 39-bed state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility in the J. Paul Sticht Center on Aging and Rehabilitation. These programs are committed to excellence in rehabilitative care, as evidenced by seven accreditations from the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). The Inpatient Rehab Programs admit patients ages 13 and older and offers the only specialty programs for adolescents in the Medical Center’s service area. The Inpatient Programs also include a 12-bed dedicated Acquired Brain Injury Unit.
Outpatient rehabilitation services are offered in several locations, including several new facilities in the Piedmont area. Facilities are designed to facilitate collaboration with other physician specialties and clinical disciplines including physical, occupational, recreation, and speech therapies.
