Position Summary The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine seeks an accomplished and creative academic leader for the position of Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion. The successful candidate will have demonstrated expertise and vision in promoting and advancing diversity and inclusion for faculty as well as an outstanding academic career at a major academic medical institution. The Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion will advise the JHU-SOM senior leadership team and lead strategic diversity and inclusion efforts that advance JHU-SOM’s mission and vision; collaborate with key university constituencies to develop and carry out initiatives that contribute to the achievement of diversity and inclusion goals; contribute to the recruitment, retention and career goals of underrepresented faculty; support the overarching goals of JHU faculty and academic leaders to enhance the SOM programs for diversity and inclusion, and health equity. The Associate Dean will serve as a resource for faculty about academic diversity and inclusion. Reporting Relationship The Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion JHU-SOM reports directly to the Vice Dean for Faculty who has broad responsibilities for supporting initiatives for faculty excellence and diversity. The Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion works collaboratively with the team of Associate Deans in the Office of Faculty, and with the VP and Chief Diversity Officer of JHM in executing the JHU-SOM diversity strategic priorities/goals. Major Duties & Responsibilities: The Associate Dean works as a member of the Office of the Vice Dean of Faculty, and within the Johns Hopkins Medicine Office of Diversity and Inclusion and carries the broad responsibilities for: This position offers 50% effort as a faculty member in the JHU SOM with academic credentials as an Associate Professor or Professor.
