The Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center, Wichita, Kansas has a vacancy for a part time Endocrinologist. Applicants must be board eligible or board certified in Endocrinology. Candidate should possess current, full, active and unrestricted licensure from any state in the United States. Current BLS certification is required.
The candidate will provide endocrinology consultative services mainly in the out-patient clinics but will be expected to provide in-patient consultations and consultation for the Emergency Department as requested. In addition, the candidate will be also expected to provide on call coverage.

A part-time Endocrinologist is needed to see patients in our outpatient Endocrinology clinic for initial consultation and if necessary, on-going care of patients with chronic endocrine conditions such as Diabetes, Thyroid disorders, and other metabolic disorders as appropriate. Interprets and evaluates clinical data for the purpose of determining diagnosis and clinical status. Prescribes appropriate and timely treatment; applies indicated therapeutic procedures; recognizes and assesses changes in behavior, symptoms, signs, and other pertinent facts about the patient and modifies plan of treatment when indicated.
In addition the candidate will be expected to provide in-patient and Tele/E-consultations as requested.

The VA Medical Center is affiliated with the University of Kansas - School of Medicine - Wichita, KS. and supports residency programs in medicine, surgery, orthopedics, psychiatry and anesthesia. Clinical research is strongly encouraged. Candidates possessing strong teaching skills will be preferred as they are expected to supervise the students and residents rotating in the neurology department.
